Workshop: Spring Container Gardening

Spring is just around the corner! Come learn everything you need to know to get started on your springtime container garden.

Folk Herbalist, wildcrafter and long-time organic gardener Willow LaMonte will host her Springtime Container Gardening workshop on Sunday, March 4 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at our farm.

Willow will teach urban gardeners how to grow in Florida’s springtime using simple, inexpensive, natural containers. Willow will demonstrate planting and mulching in portable gardens and offer suggestions on navigating through the array of potting soils and amendments.

Learn tips on direct seeding, transplanting veggie starts, feeding and watering, inviting pollinators and beneficial insects, organic disease/pest prevention, and growing the right plants for the season. Organic seeds and seedlings will also be available for purchase. Willow LaMonte is the owner of Willow Herbal Delight Gardens in Valrico.

Following the workshop, stay for our Sunday Farmers Market and Live Music Series.

Suggested donation: $8-$20.  Cash or check only please.
