Can I bring my dog on a leash to the Sunday market?
Yes, leashed (well-behaved) dogs are welcome at the Farm on Sundays. Please be sure to watch your dog carefully and clean up after them.
Do you host private parties? I am interested in hosting a birthday party at the farm.
Rental of the farm for private events is done on a case-by-case basis. The cost would vary depending on the type of event. Please use our Contact form to get in touch for details.
Do you host wwoofers at your farm?
Yes we do if the timing works out. We generally have 3 "apprentices" that live on the property during our season (Nov-May). We would consider summer help as well, but do not have food growing in our off season. Use our Contact form to get in touch.
Hi there, I would like to volunteer with you! Do you have volunteers at the farm during the summer?
Generally speaking, we do not have many volunteers here working at the farm during our off-season (June-Sept). But if you have time and are willing to work in the heat, you are welcome to use our Contact form to get in touch and we'll find work for you to do!
How does one become a vendor at the Sunday market?
Please check out our Vendor Information under Community Programs > Sunday Market. There is a Vendor Information and an online application that would need to be filled out. Then we'll get back to you!
How does the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) membership work?
Members pay a membership fee at the beginning of the season to cover the costs of operating the farm. In turn, they get a share of the harvest every week or every other week, depending on whether they are a full or half member.
Read more about membership >How long is a season?
Our harvest season normally runs from November through the end of May.
I really want local organic produce but we aren't members and can't make it to your Sunday Market. Is their any other way we can get to your farm that's not on a Sunday to purchase?
We're sorry, but most of the veggies we grow are for our CSA members. If we are able to harvest "extra" veggies, they are normally sold at our Sunday Market and to local food co-ops.
What's in a typical CSA share?
There are two forms of membership: full and half. Full members pick up a share every week and half members pick up a share every other week. Each week the shares vary based entirely on what's coming out of the fields that week, but we try to have 10-15 different items in each share. The best way to get an idea of what a typical share might look like is to come to one of our Sunday Farmers' Markets (Sundays 12-4pm, Nov-May) and see what our members are picking up that day.
Where can I buy Sweetwater's organic, locally grown produce?
There are two ways to buy Sweetwater's veggies:
1. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program - By becoming a CSA member, you'll receive a share of produce every week or every other week throughout our harvest season (Nov-May), depending on your level of membership. See CSA page for more information.
2. Sweetwater Sunday Farmers' Market - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - Every Sunday 12-4pm, November through May at the farm. The Sweetwater booth will sell any "extra" veggies we were able to harvest that day (some weeks there may not be any, other weeks there may be several things to choose from.)
Why is there a range listed in the CSA Membership prices?
The membership prices listed help cover the costs involved in growing you the best possible product. Donations made above the minimum amount listed are used to fund our farm outreach and educational programs. If you do not wish to make a donation, please pay the minimum amount listed in each category.
