This week we are preparing more of the fields at Children’s Home farm for plantings. These fields are spread with layers of compost and then will be tilled and planted. We have many seedlings in the greenhouse which will soon be ready to be planted in these newly prepared fields; including broccoli, kohlrabi, cabbages, asian greens and chard. This week we begin harvesting Curly Kale which is a variety of kale with light green ruffled leaves. You can prepare this variety of kale just as you would Red Russian or Lacinato, in salads, soups, stir-frys or even Kale Chips!
